Somalia's Al-Shabab attack a US base in Kenya in dawn raid
MOGADISHU, Somalia - Somali militant group Al-Shabab said on Sunday morning that its fighters attacked an American base in Lamu county in Kenya.
Al-Shabab which is Somalia’s affiliate to Alqaeda said in a statement circulating on the social media that an elite group of Shabab fighters had launched a daring dawn raid on US naval base known as " Camp Simba" in Lamu county.
There are no independent reports on the exact casualties of the attack.
The weekend the group claimed to have attacked four public transport buses in Lamu county and have claimed the responsibility of Mogadishu’s truck bomb that killed at least 100.
The group is becoming a growing regional threat as it able to carry out deadly attacks across many countries in the region. US Military in Somalia continuously attack Somali militant with drone attack in attempt to help Somali government to defeat the group.

KDF said in a statement that the attack was foiled by its soldiers.
"This morning at around 5:30 am an attempt was made to breach security at Manda Air Strip. The attempted breach was successfully repulsed. Four terrorists bodies have so far been found. The airstrip is safe," KDF Spokesperson Col Paul Njuguna said.
Witnesses said that they have heard huge explosion which many believe might have been a suicide car bomb which reportedly entered Camp Simba, Manda Bay. Plume of dark smoke seen into the sky as nearby residents watched.
