Somalia: SNA kills 2 senior Al-Shabab commanders, takes over its base in Middle Shabelle region

MOGADISHU, Somalia (Horn Observer) Somali National army took over militant base in Lower Shabelle region in an operation carried out by special units in the National Army, Officials said.
The operation which took place near Balad, some 30km outside Mogadishu is reported to have claimed the killing of senior Shabab commanders and wounding several others in the attack.
During the military operation, the national army officers destroyed a base controlled by al-shabaab militias in the area.
In addition, the locals told the state media that the national army was currently present at the base which used to belong to al-shabaab militant group.
This military operation is part of the huge efforts made by the national army to eliminate the terrorists and secure the roads between the cities of Balad and Jowhar
