Nairobi –KENYA (Horn Observer) The Editor in Chief of the Sunatimes.com, a site popular with launching smear campaign against the Public officials, has been exposed.

Farah Mohamed Yusuf aka Farah Lamaane, a BBC Somali Service employee based in Nairobi – Kenya, is the editor in chief of the sunatimes blog, who keeps his smear campaign against the public officials, business community and the prominent journalists in Somalia.

"Farah Lamaane is responsible for everything that is posted in that blog.” A Somali security official who requested to remain anonymous, because he is not allowed to speak publicly, but has extensive experience on the subject said.

Last November, Somali government blocked 35 Somali websites who were accused of waging smear campaign against the public officials identified under the ownership of the Breda based Somali Blogger, Dahir Alasow and his fellow Editor Omar Faruk Osman.

The blog, http://www.sunatimes.com was among several blogs that Breda court in Holland ordered its owner Dahir Alasow to apologize and correct false allegations against a Somali remittanceCompany on December 2015.

Farah Lamaane’s smear campaigns are however not new and can be remembered on his wider smear campaign against Bar-Kulan Radio back in 2012, after serving almost two years as Editor In chief of the Radio, but later fired for airing live conversation between Somali Journalists and Somali and African Union officials in his capacity of the then Editor in chief of the Radio station, which he took the responsibility in a leaked documents obtained by Horn Observer, an account Farah Lamaane later denied in post published on his blog, where he serves as the site's editor.

The, then harmful campaign not only targeted the radio station alone, but also a London based Albany Associates and the United Nations, in a bit to cut the funding of the radio station, which employed dozens of Somali journalists both in Kenya and Somalia, only after Farah Lamaane was fired from the radio station, in a major campaign involved by his bosses Dahir Alasow and Omar Faruk Osman.

After he was ousted by the Bar-Kulan radio, He was employed by former Editor of the BBC Somali Abdirahman Koronto, after recommendations from Omar Faruk Osman, who is Abdirahman’s cousin, according to multiple sources obtained. More recently, Farah Lamaane wrote harmful article against members of the BBC Somali staff, after his friend who employed him lost his position as the Editor of the BBC Somali Service.
