The Ocean Stars recorded clips of videos in which they urged the people of Somalia to take the government’s advice and guidance very serious so that together the world can win the fight against the disease.

They directed their messages to the Somali people telling them to listen to the government’s advice and follow all steps and recommendations by the ministry of health of the federal government of Somalia.

Some of the players reminded the Somali people of a well-known hadith narrated from Prophet Mohamed peace be upon him which says that "cleanliness is half of the faith” to encourage the people to always be clean and wash their hands constantly.


The awareness messages from Ocean Stars come as FIFA is using its member associations to spread the awareness messages in their respected countries.

"I kindly thank the Ocean Stars for playing a key role in the fight against COVID-19. People love the ocean stars very much and I am sure they will listen to their words and that will truly help in the campaign against the spread of the disease” Somali Football Federation president, Abdiqani Said Arab, said in a statement.
