Militant group executes six men over espionage.
MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) Al-Shabaab militant group on Wednesday executed six young men over allegations of espionage in Jamame town in the southern Somalia region of Lower Jubba, the group's propaganda media and security observers confirmed.

The execution, according to Mogadishu-based security analysts, becomes the first in a public by the al-Qaeda affiliate since Covid-19, which its confirmed cases now reached 80, hit the Horn of African country in early March.

Pro-al-Shabaab radio has reported that the extremist group's firing squad shot on the head the six young men accused of spying for the Federal Government of Somalia and the regional Somali states. All the men, blindfolded, were put on display in an open field in Jamame district before they were executed one after the other.

The six men are identified as: Aden Adan, Adan Abdullahi Haji, Osman Abdulle Afrah, Hassan Hafow Saney, Ali Madkeerow and Hilowle Bashir Adan. All had their ages ranged between 21 to 36.

Horn Observer can not independently verify the group's accusations. The group's courts are not open to the public as there are no independent journalists permitted to witness its procedures.
