JOWHAR, JULY 13 (Horn Observer) AMISOM Commander announced a major plan to clear the roads that connect the liberated towns, but the group's inability to separate Shabab from a normal civiian hinders their operations.

Speaking at a training held for the Hir Shabelle lawmakers, AMISOM Commander, Gen. Osman Noor Subagle  noted that 89% of the major towns are under government and AMISOM control but the main connecting routes are still closed.

"89% of the towns are free, whereas connecting roads are closed, for instance The road that connect Jowhar to Burlo Burte and Jalalaqsi” Gen. Osman Noor Subagle, AMISOM Commander said, "We are fighting against an enemy that looks like Somali, speak Somali, mostly live in the areas they were born and are unable to distinguish the normal civilians and the Shabab.”

"imagine what its like the cost of  sending 20 soldiers and 19 hardly reach the final distination, that’s really a serious problem which resulted we remain in towns for 10 years” Gen. Soubagleh added.

General Osman Nour Soubagleh  was appointed as Commander of the AMISOM Force last year, after he replaced Lieutenant-General Jonathan Rono of Kenya.

The Shabab besieged most of the liberated towns and routinely attack AMISOM and Somali troops when traveling in between.
