    Somalia: NUSOJ and UNICEF Train Journalists on Child Rights

    MOGADISHU, July 22 (Horn Observer) The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) on Saturday launched a 3 day long training on Child rights in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

MOGADISHU, July 22 (Horn Observer) The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) on Saturday launched a 3 day long training on Child rights in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

The training which has attracted more than 40 journalists will train the media reporting on child rights and specific ethical standards to be observed during the reporting period. Trainers specialized on Human rights and the media field will be providing the training in the three long seminar.

The training was officially opened by the Secretary General of the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ), Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu and Mohamed Elmi, a UNICEF representative.

Somalia does not have child rights laws, whereas the previous Somalia governments used the child rights explained in the Quran.
