    SOMALIA: Cabinet Appoints New Auditor General, Welcomes Recent Somalia, India Agreement and Approves Draft Bills

    MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) - The weekly meeting of Somalia's council of Minister this week approved several draft bills and appointed new Auditor General and the welcomed recent agreement on Prisoner transfer between Somalia and India.

MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) - The weekly meeting of Somalia's council of Minister this week approved several draft bills and appointed new Auditor General and the welcomed recent agreement on Prisoner transfer between Somalia and India.

The council of Ministers appointed Auditor General for a Somali - American named Mohamed Mohamud Ali (Afgoi). Mr. Ali holds Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College, Graduate School of Management and Technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from George Mason University where he majored in Accounting and minored in Management Information Systems.

The cabinet warmly welcomed the Somalia and India pact on sentenced Prisoner transfers. 15 Somali prisoners who were sentented by an Indian court on 7 years each and spent 6.5 years in prison will be the first group to arrive Somalia. According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister, the prisoners were singing a Somali song on Somalia’s unity.  The agreement follows after Foreign Minister Yusuf Garaad Omar and the Attorney General, Ahmed Ali Dahir recently paid an official visit to India.


During the meeting, the council also approved three draft bills on Water, Education Curriculum and the Health. On ther other hand, new draft bills - finance, Petrolium and another bill which restricts the weapons -  were distributed to the ministers for comments. The statement added.
