    Somalia Government unveils plans to Rebuild Mogadishu Stadium

    MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) The Somali Ministry of Youth and Sports on unveiled plans to reconstruct the Mogadishu Stadium, which is the biggest sports fields in Somalia, SONNA reported.

Mogadishu Stdium has been occupied by AMISOM troops for the last 10 years.
MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) The Somali Ministry of Youth and Sports on unveiled plans to reconstruct the Mogadishu Stadium, which is the biggest sports fields in Somalia, SONNA reported.
The stadium has been nonoperational for more than a decade, after AMISOM troops, which is an African union Mission to Somalia, stationed its troops there.

Minister of Youth and Sports Khadiijo Mohamed Diirie announced that "AMISOM troops who were stationed there for a long time, will move the stadium” According to Somali National News Agency (SONNA),

"Once AMISOM troops move from the stadium, we will be starting rebuilding the studium in order for the sudium to contribute to the country’s sports.” Minister Diirie added as cited by SONNA.


Recently, AMISOM vacated the Somali National University after Burundian AMISOM contingent occupied it for the last 10 years.
