Units of AMISOM troops from the Ethiopian contingent were stationed in the town of Dhusamareb, where they have setup basis inside the town.  Ethiopian troops, who were previously based there for a long time, were commandeered by the Ethiopian government and  vacated the town a day earlier, local media reported citing security officials.

Its believed that the arrival of the AMISOM troops in the town  follows negotiiations between Ahlu Sunna Waljama and Galmudug administration on the issue, convincing Ahlu Sunna Waljama to join the Galmudug administration.

There has been armed confrontations between Ahlu Sunna Waljama and Galmudug Administration in several areas in Galgaduud region.

Early this year,  10 people were killed and dozens wounded after a fierce between erupted in the town of Dhusamareb in Galgaduud region manned by moderate Sufis; Ahlu Sunna Waljama.
