MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo on Tuesday traveled on a two day working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a bit to discuss the Saudi Kingdom over its pressure to reverse the Somali government's neutral position on the Gulf crisis.

"The president and his delegation will meet with King Salman and the crown prince.” Statement from Villa Somalia read.

Photographs shared by the President’s office show that the President’s delegation left for Saudi Arabia on Saudi chartered flight.

"The president’s travel is related to his previous travels to the Kingdom on empowering the economy, security and investment” Abdirahman Omar Osman, Minister of Information said in the statement.

Recently, the newly elected Galmudug president, Ahmed Duale Haaf cut ties with Qatar, after paying a visit to UAE, which sparked tensions among the senior officials of Galmudug, after the vice president and the speaker opposed.

Analysts think that the president's visit to the Kingdom will likely change his government's neutrality decision and might possibly  cut ties with Qatar.

The Gulf Crisis  had serious implications on the Somali government policies, after three out of the five regional administration sided with Saudi Alliance over Qatar, which subsequently backfired the federal government’s neutrality decision.
