ADADO (Horn Observer) The parliament of Galmudug regional State of Somalia on Tuesday booted its president Ahmed Duale Haaf out of office in a vote of no confidence and elected interim president.

Galmudug President Ahmed Duale Haaf recently cut with ties with Qatar by going against the federal government's neutrality.

According to local media, The Galmudug parliament met at a hotel in Adado, after the former president Ahmed Duale Haaf forcefully took the keys of the parliament from the speaker Ali Ga’al Asir, after the Galmudug Vice President and the Speaker called President Haaf’s decision to cut ties with Qatar "Unacceptable”

"52 MPs voted in favor of the no-confidence vote against the sitting president Ahmed Du’ale Haaf” Ahmed Yusuf Ciyow, who was elected by the parliament among themselves as the speaker announced the results as reported by the local media.

Unconfirmed reports say that other members of Galmudug Parliament reportedly filed a motion against the speaker who is under house arrest at Galmudug presidential palace.  However, according to a statement released by Galmudug parliament on Tuesday said that speaker of the parliament was  unable to attend the session citing security concerns.

Among those put under house arrest include the Galmudug Vice President Mohamed Hashi Arabey for opposing President Haaf's decision to cut ties with Qatar.

The vote of no-confidence against the Galmudug president Ahmed Duale Haaf coincides with the President Farmaajo’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Gulf Crisis had serious implications on the Somali government policies, after three out of the five regional administration sided with Saudi Alliance over Qatar, which subsequently backfired the federal government’s neutrality decision.
