    Somalia: Italian Naval Mission Hands Over Equipment to Somali Police Custodial Corps

MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) Italian navy has on Saturday handed over equipment to the Somali Police custodial Corps in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, Media reports

According to the  state-run Radio Mogadishu, the equipment  was recieved Deputy commander Elmi Waasuge Olow on behalf of the Police custodial Corps. Among the equipment donated include bullet proof jackets, army uniforms, sports equipment among others.

Italian navy are part of the EU Anti piracy mission on the Horn of Africa.  Piracy has significantly reduced in recent years due to the heavy presence of the international anti piracy patrols off the coast of Somalia
