    Somalia: ISIS Militants in Puntland accused of looting livestock - reports

    GAROWE, Somalia July 16 (Horn Observer) Pastoralists in Puntland's Bari region say that ISIS militants started looting hundreds of their livestock and asked the Puntland government to protect their animals, local media reported.

GAROWE, Somalia July 16 (Horn Observer) Pastoralists in Puntland's Bari region say that ISIS militants started looting hundreds of their livestock and asked the Puntland government to protect their animals, local media reported.


The ISIS militants established bases in Puntland after spliting from the Shabab, a militant group affiliated to Alqaeda.

Local media reports cite a pastoralist whose name withheld for safety saying that "Several hundred of our animals were looted by ISIS in the past days,”

There are no independent sources confirming the matter in question.

Puntland authorities is yet to comment on the matter.
