The Federal Parliament of Somalia have been forming various parliamentary committees, which the female parliamentarians say they have been excluded and thus constitutes violation against constitution.

"Female MPs walked out of the second day’s session of the parliament protesting the constant violations against the constitution excluding them from the committee” Lawmaker Sagal Issak Biihi said on twitter on Monday.

On Monday, Senator Abdi Hassan Awale (!Qeybdiid) was elected as the chair of the Constitional committee of the two chambers of the parliament. Mr. Awale won after he contested Abdirahman Farole.

Despite being distributed to the required quota for the both chambers of the parliament, Women MPs still say they are excluded from the important parliamentary committees.
