    Somalia: Somali PM Cuts the Ribbon of the New Turkish Military Academy in Mogadishu

    MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khaire on Saturday cut the ribbon of the new Turkish military training base in Mogadishu, Officials.

MOGADISHU (Horn Observer) The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khaire on Saturday cut the ribbon of the new Turkish military training base in Mogadishu, Officials.

The opening ceremony which took place inside the military training base was attended by the both Somali and Turkish officials and representatives from the International community.

"Today our country is on the road to development. "Somali PM Hassan Khaire said in a statement, "To reach that goal, we must have Somali army that defends the unity of the Somalis."

"This academy is part of the development." He added.

The Commander of the Turkish armed forces who arrived in Mogadishu on Friday, Somali Prime minister and the Turkish ambassador to Mogadishu cut the ribbon together.


The Turkish military base which is the biggest  military base in the Horn of Africa was deployed to up to 200 military trainers who will take the training of the Somali soldiers.

The military training facility will train Somali military officials and soldiers. Its planned that the new training center will have the capability to train 1000 soldiers at a time and will be the Turkey’s biggest military base in Africa.
