Somalia: Two killed in IED blast in Marka

MARKA, Somalia (Horn Observer) - At least two people have been killed several others wounded after improvised explosive device went off on Wednesday in Marka town of Lower Shabelle region.
According to police, the explosion took place near Awale garage which not far from the town police station.
Witnesses said the police officers near the scene opened fire after the blast but no one was reported to have sustained injuries as a result of the heavy gunfire from government soldiers stationed at Marka police station near Awale garage.
No group claimed the responsibility for the attack but it has the hallmarks of al-Shabaab attacks.
