
Somalia: Seven killed in Mogadishu suicide bomb blast

MOGADISHU (HORN OBSERVER) - At least seven people have been killed and more than nine others wounded in heavy explosion near Villa Somalia in Mogadishu.
A suicide bomber driving vehicle laden with explosives has targeted several vehicles waiting to pass through a security checkpoint at border between Waberi and Hamarweyne districts.
"A suicide car bomb that exploded at Ceelgaab junction killed seven people and injured eight others," Muawiye Mudeey, district commissioner of Mogadishu's Hamarjajab district told Reuters.
Al-Shabaab terror group has claimed the responsibility for the attack, saying the mission was to a convoy carrying senior government officials.
