Witnesses said the attackers launched the offensive four directions of the town including four cars attached to explosive devices.

"Galmudug forces foiled the terrorist attack, arrested suicide bomber who was intending to carry out car bomb attack and recovered the vehicle and weapons” Ahmed Shire Falagle,  Information Minister for Galmudug Statesaid as quoted by Somali News Agency (SONA)

Somali National Army Chief, Odowa Yusuf Rage said that Somalia’s elite forces and Galmudug Paramilitary forces are still pursuing the remnants of the terrorists fleeing from the area so far, telling that the casualties on Al-Shabaab side could rise any time

Three children were also killed in the attack.

On the other hand, Al-Shabab, a Somali militant group Affiliated Alqaeda claimed to have killed 27 government soldier in the attack, but their claim could not be independently verified.
