MOGADISHU (HORN OBSERVER) – At least seven lives, including a child and a mother, were lost in central Somalia on Monday due to clan retaliation attacks in Balanbale and near Dhusamareb, as reported by local officials.

Four men fell victim to a fatal shooting in Faragoy village near Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug, on Monday night. The assailants managed to escape, and all the victims belonged to the same clan.

In a separate incident in Balanbal town, three individuals, including a Quran school teacher, his wife, and their children, were ruthlessly attacked in their home by gunmen, resulting in their tragic deaths.

No arrests have been made in connection with these incidents.

Galmudug officials have characterized these events as part of a recurring pattern of clan animosity, aggravated by a significant influx of arms into rural areas.

Adding to the complexities, the road movement between Dhusamareb and Adado remains affected due to clan-based killings that transpired last year.
