    Somalia: NISA detains female TV journalist following raid at her home in Mogadishu

    Mogadishu, Somalia (Horn Observer) Members of Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) detained an RTN reporter and newscaster Ms Bahjo Abdullahi Salaad, after security forces raided her home in Mogadishu on Saturday morning.

Mogadishu, Somalia (Horn Observer) Members of Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) detained an RTN reporter and newscaster Ms Bahjo Abdullahi Salaad, after security forces raided her home in Mogadishu on Saturday morning.

The security forces detained the journalist at Warta Nabadda police station, where she is currently held.

Its not yet clear reasons behind her arrest. However, journalists reported that senior NISA officer ordered her arrest.

Government officials have not commented on Bahjo’s arrest. 

Somalia government recently instructed the local media and journalists not to report security releted issues or else face serious consequences.
