
Somalia Secures Major Victory after Winning 3-0 Against Rwanda during the CECAFA U17 Championship
Improved security in the some parts of the country, Somali Football have rising from the ashes, allowing to train and recruit talented into the Somali football fields.
Somalia completed the game with the third goal after the break, limiting Rwanda’s chances. The victory strengthens Somalia’s position in the competition as the group stage continues, with the team now looking to build consistency in their remaining matches.
The Rwandan team’s performance prompted widespread criticism from football supporters across the country after closing the group stage campaign with a winless record, According to New Times.
Rwanda started the tournament with a 2-0 defeat to hosts Ethiopia on November 15.Their second match saw Kenya come from behind to win 2-1on November 21, effectively ending their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations U17.
Teams from the CECAFA Zone Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti and South Sudan have set eyes on the first qualifying round of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 in Qatar
Somalia, fresh from picking a morale boosting win against highly ranked Bahrain in an International friendly match will face Oman on November 26thin Doha.
