Ethiopia deploys new spies to Somali region amid fears of terror attack

The new troops were recruited from various security agencies operating in Ethiopia, according to FANA radio.
"The troops will take part in the security sweep as the Ethiopian government is concerned about the terrorist threat in neighboring Somalia and in the Somali region in Kenyan known as the NFD,” the government-owned radio reported.
In addition, the new Ethiopian government's decision to deploy a new anti-terrorism force arrived just days after an explosive-laden car was seized in Wardher town in Dolo region.
Security sources told Horn Observer reporter in Jigjiga that two male occupants suspected to be member of terrorist groups were apprehended.
"We are yet to ascertain the motive but this is certainly a terrorist group trying to infiltrate into Ethiopian Somali region to cause mayhem,” the source added.
Security officials are saying the car bomb crossed from Somali border.
Somali Regional President Mustafe Omar Agjar has instructed security forces in the region to be on high alert as terrorist groups from Somalia are planning to cross into region, according to presidential office sources.
"Our security forces remain vigilant and we will foil any terrorist attempt,” the presidential source said.
