Hirshabelle State, Somalia - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Hirshabelle State is deeply concerned about the recent incident of a closed container, believed to contain hazardous chemicals, washing up on the beach front of Adale District.

The container, which was discovered by local fishermen, poses a significant risk to the surrounding environment and residents. The Ministry is working closely with local authorities to identify the contents of the container and to ensure that it is safely removed from the area.

The Ministry is seeking support from the international donor community and NGOs in identifying the type of hazard and in providing technical assistance in the safe removal of the container. The Ministry is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people and the environment in Hirshabelle State, and welcomes any assistance that can be provided.
