    Breaking News Somalia: Inside Mogadishu Central Prison: Gunfire and Explosions continue to be heard

    Mogadishu (Horn Observer) On Saturday, an attack involving gunfire and explosions has begun at the Central Prison in Mogadishu, witnesses and officials said.

Mogadishu (Horn Observer) On Saturday, an attack involving gunfire and explosions has begun at the Central Prison in Mogadishu, witnesses and officials said.

Witnesses and officials said that the attack began at the Centrale Section of the prison, which is one of two main sections of the prison facility and is adjacent to the Prison Warden's Office, after inmates acquired guns and hand grenades  The violence then spread to the other main section known as Biya Muundo.


There are no casualties and its not clear how the inmates acquired weapons inside the prison.
