Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia's Southwest on Thursday executed a man convicted with murder on firing squad in the town of Baidoa, the interim capital of Southwest State of Somalia, marking the second execution within a week, Arlaadi Media reported.

Isak Adan Ibraahim was executed at a public square in Baidoa, after he was conviced of the murder of late Adan Mohamed Adan.

Regional Security Minister Hassan Abdikadir Mohamed addressed the crowd at the scene, reiterating the government’s unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law.

"Intentional killings and acts of violence will not be tolerated in our society,” Mohamed declared as quoted by Arlaadi Media. "The rule of law must prevail, and those who commit such heinous crimes will face the full force of justice.”

The public execution has sparked mixed reactions, with some residents expressing support for the government’s tough stance on crime, while others have raised concerns about the severity of the punishment.
