Onkod Radio – Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) in collaboration with the South West Administration, has distributed food assistance to 2,000 families in the Diinsoor district.

The humanitarian aid distribution were distributed to 2,000 vulnerable families in Dinsoor as part of a collaborative relief initiative between SoDMA and the Government of China to assist communities facing deteriorating humanitarian challenges.

The relief supplies, which included flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil. Many of the beneficiary families have been severely impacted by climate-related challenges, particularly the prolonged drought and lack of rainfall experienced across the country during the previous winter season, which damaged farms and reduced agricultural production.

The drought has had a major impact on farmers and pastoral communities, forcing many families to leave their homes in search of better living conditions. In many cases, these hardships have prevented displaced families from returning to their original areas.
