
Three killed in IED blast outside Somali capital Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia (HORN OBSERVER) - Three people including a local administrator have been killed and two other people sustained injuries after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) suspected to have been on a road in Garasbaale village hit a vehicle.
Witnesses said unknown attackers had set the IED on the road which hit a speeding car carrying Abdirahman Ahmed Ali, head of Garasbalay.
This caused the vehicle to be badly damaged and burnt. The blast claimed the lives of Ali, and two other civilians.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Last January, Ali Mohamed Moalim, the deputy commissioner for security and politics in Garasbaale; Abdirashid Dubad, a youth activist as well as their driver were killed in an explosion caused by IED fitted to their car.
