    Kidnappers of Somali woman in Nairobi demand Ksh5 million ransom

    NAIROBI (HORN OBSERVER) - Holders of a 23-year-old Somali woman who was kidnapped from Kamukunji area in Nairobi have demanded her family to pay Ksh5 million ransom ($5,000).

NAIROBI (HORN OBSERVER) - Holders of a 23-year-old Somali woman who was kidnapped from Kamukunji area in Nairobi have demanded her family to pay Ksh5 million ransom ($5,000).

Hafsa Mohammed Lukman who allegedly kidnapped by unknown people from Kamukunji constituency in Nairobi was last traced at her shop on Tuesday, June 15, through CCTV footage.

Ms Lukman’s kidnappers sent a 35 seconds video featuring a woman believed to be Lukman who was blindfolded with both her hands and legs tied.

"I have been kidnapped, and they’re demanding ransom. Please, send it," Lukman stated- her voice barely heard in the video due to the wounds and scars on her mouth.


She also had open wounds and scars- showing that she had been tortured by her abductors.

In the video, one of the men holding her tells her to speak to her sister.

The family made a missing person report at California police station in Eastleigh on June 15, when she went missing.

Just as the news of Hafsa was doing round across the social media platforms, a new victim was reported missing.

Cases of kidnapping have become rampant in the recent past with abductors going to extra lengths to ensure their hatched scheme comes to fruition.

Hafsa Abdulwahab, another victim was last seen at her watermelon store in Kayole. Family members said they reported the matter at the local Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)

Four other people were also reported to have gone missing in Eastliegh.
