GAROWE (HORN OBSERVER) – British Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, embarked on his third visit to Garowe in Puntland on May 4, reaffirming the robust partnership between the UK and Puntland through constructive engagements with President Deni, civil society representatives, and the Puntland Electoral Commission.

During his meeting with President Deni, Ambassador Nithavrianakis extended his congratulations on the President’s recent re-election and urged him to adopt a collaborative approach in addressing national political issues, including constitutional reform and electoral processes, by fostering dialogue with key stakeholders, including the Federal Government.

Highlighting the significance of women’s empowerment and inclusion in decision-making processes, the Ambassador commended President Deni’s appointment of three women as ministers in his Cabinet, emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping a prosperous, safe, and secure Somalia.
