    Kenyan plane crash-lands in SNA base

    MOGADISHU (HORN OBSERVER) - A passenger plane operated by local airline Skyward Express on Wednesday crash-landed at a Somalia National Army base after developing a mechanical problem on its way to Mandera County.

MOGADISHU (HORN OBSERVER) - A passenger plane operated by local airline Skyward Express on Wednesday crash-landed at a Somalia National Army base after developing a mechanical problem on its way to Mandera County.

The incident happened at Burahache military camp, Elwak, Gedo region in Somalia.

The plane registration number 5Y-GRS DAC Aviation International De Havilland Canada DHC-8-100 had left Wilson Airport of Nairobi, capital of Kenya.

The plane was carrying about 35 passengers.

In a statement, the Skyward Express which operates the plane said all the passengers and crew on board came out of the scene safe.
"Our aircraft registration SY GRS landed at the Burache Airstrip while en route on a charter flight to Elwak, Mandera county. All our 37 passengers and three crew are safe," Skyward Express said.


The cause of the incident is yet to be known.

"The cause of the incident is yet to be established. We are working closely with the relevant authorities and will share more dates as soon as we receive them," the airline said.
