MOGADISHU (HORN OBSERVER) - The first day of Somalia's lower house election is concluded with second lawmaker from Somaliland being elected overwhelmingly in Somali capital, Mogadishu

Incumbent Bihi Iman Egeh has retained his lower house seat after his only opponent Abdirahman Hassan Ismail in the just concluded election which place at the General Kahiye Police Academy.

Ige got 92 votes while his opponent Abdirahman Hassan Ismail secured nine votes only.

Elections for Somalia's Lower House of Parliament began on Monday morning in Mogadishu.

Earlier in the day, Somali deputy PM Guled defeated Mushtaq Ibrahim Yusuf for seat HOP239 by receiving 97 votes, while Yusuf received three votes.

Somaliland has 61 seats in the Lower House.
