Kismayo, Somalia (Horn Observer) ATMIS handed over Abdalle Birolle Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Jubaland State to the Somalia National Army (SNA), marking the fourth base transferred in phase three of ATMIS troop drawdown, ATMIS said on a twitter now (X) statement.

At the event, ATMIS Deputy SRCC, Sivuyile Bam, underscored ATMIS commitment to supporting the Somali Transition Plan to restore peace and stability in the region.

The representative for the Somali National Army Major Muhudin Ahmed, thanked ATMIS Kenya Defense Forces troops for their dedication and contributions to securing Jubaland.

United Nations Support Office for Somalia (UNSOS) Transition Planning Cell Official, Santosh Koka, stated that UNSOS will continue providing logistical support to ensure a successful transition. .

UNSOS gifted Somali National Army with generators, water treatment plants, water tanks, boreholes, and control boards. The handover was attended by ATMIS Sector 2 Commander, Brig. Seif Salim Rashid, Abdalle Birolle Town Deputy Mayor, Ahmed Ali, the incoming Abdalle Birolle Commander, Col. Mohamed Hassan Gabobe, and other senior officials from ATMIS, UNSOS, and SNA.
