
Marking a new chapter of cooperation and partnership, Egypt Air to start bi-weekly flghts to Somalia


The inaugural flight was carrying a large Egyptian delegtaion led by Egypt’s foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and was received at Mogadishu’s Aden Adde airport by his counterpart Somalia’s foreign minister Amb. Ahmed M. Fiqi Ahmed.
"The commencement of direct flights is a significant step in enhancing the relationship between Somalia and Egypt, aiming to deepen cooperation in various aspects for the mutual benefit of both nations.” Somalia’s foreign minister Amb. Ahmed Moalim Fiqi said.
Inauguration ceremony held at the Mogadishu’s International Terminal, with high-ranking officials from both countries in attendance, highlighted the importance of strengthening ties and collaboration in various sectors such as politics, security, economy, transportation, aviation, trade, culture, healthcare, and many more.
The Egyptian national carrier will operate biweekly flights on this new route, enhancing connectivity between Cairo and Mogadishu and facilitating greater economic and diplomatic engagement between Egypt and Somalia.
The launch comes months after UAE suspended its direct flights to Mogadishu following political rift between both countries .

Mogadishu, (Horn Observer) In a new chapter of cooperation between Egypt and Somalia Egypt air on Friday launches bi-weekly flights to Mogadishu for the first time, officials said.
