Even though a number of girls are joining schools through the 'Go to School' program in #Somalia and recently achieving high grades in national exams throughout Somalia, local activists, such as Bashiir Dahir Shire Bile from the #Iftiinka Mudug organization, attribute the lack of access to professional skills and courses for many women and young girls to cultural barriers.
Much more needs to be done to tackle cultural barriers and to ensure women and girls gain access to education, professional courses, and skills that can improve their future.
