Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – (Horn Observer) Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud paid tribute to the Ethiopian fallen soldiers during his two visit to Ethiopia, while the two leaders reportedly agreed to restore diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Somalia’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited various historical sites in Ethiopia, including memorial site of the fallen soldiers who were killed the 1977 war between Somalia and Ethiopia by laying.

President Mohamud who is on two day official visit, met with the Ethiopian prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. Both leaders agreed to "restore and enhance” their bilateral relations through full diplomatic representation in their respective capitals.

Somalia and Ethiopia haven been at odds ever since Somaliland signed a Memorundum of Understanding granting Ethiopia sea access including naval base.

Turkey has been mediating both countries on finding a solution to their conflict and invited both Leaders in Turkey.
