MOGADISHU, Somalia: At least 26 people mainly civilians were killed and 60 others wounded when a suicide car bomb attacked a security checkpoint along the ex-control Afgooye, witnesses and officials said, in what many believe was the deadliest attack in this ending year.

The attack targeted civilian buses in the queue at the taxation point, among them Benadir University student bus heading to the school, killing almost all the students in the bus.

Spokesperson for the Somalia’s Ministry of Information, Ismail Muktar Omar said that the blast killed 26 people and wounded 60 people, making it the deadliest, adding thing the death toll is likely increase.

"26 people were killed and 60 were wounded in today’s attack” Ismail Muktar Omar, Spokesperson for Somalia’s ministry of information said.


Witnesses said that  they have seen close to 30 dead bodies at a taxation checkpoint in Mogadishu’s Ex-control Afgoi, when a car loaded with explosives hit the checkpoint.  The scene immediately turned into pools blood and flesh scattered into the area.

"I have seen at least 20 dead bodies lying on the ground soon after the attack” Abdulkadir Osman, a witness told Horn Observer, "It was very shocking and hreatening”

Somalia government in recent months seemed to have put under control the suicide attacks, which  the government accused to have been carried out by the Shabab.
