
Car bomb attack hits security checkpoint near the Somali parliament

MOGADISHU, Somalia - A car bomb blast believed to be suicide attack targeted a security checkpoint near the government's highly guarded areas killing several, local media reported.

Witnesses said that a huge blast has gone off near a highly guarded security checkpoint at Sayidka road junction killing several including government officials.
"I have heard huge blast that sent smoke into the sky” Hassan Ali said, "I am extremely shocked to see innocent civilians killed every other day.
The scene turned into pools and blood, burned cars and smoke.
Somali government and Somali police were not immediately available for comment regarding the casualties of today’s attack.
However, police sealed the area soon after the car bomb attack and denied access to a dozen more journalists trying to capture the incident as it folded.
