MOGADISHU, Somalia (HORN OBSERVER) - More than 10 people have been killed and an unknown number injured after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive at Top Coffee, a popular coffee shop near the presidential palace, on Sunday evening.

Local security officials, however, anticipate that the casualty count will increase.

Ambulance workers are still endeavoring to recover more bodies and attend to injured individuals from the partially destroyed building. Disturbing photos depict human body parts scattered beneath collapsed walls.

The explosion targeted football fans watching the Euro 2024 match between England and Spain. The attack occurred around 11 PM local time.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident yet.

Meanwhile, former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed condemned the attack in a brief statement:

"I condemn the barbaric attack on the young people visiting Top Coffee in Mogadishu tonight. This attack demonstrates the hostility of terrorist groups towards our youth, who represent the future of our country, and towards the businessmen who have invested in our nation."
