Al-Shabab takes credit for the Saturday's deadly attack in Somalia's capital
MOGADISHU, Somalia (Horn Observer) Spokesperson for the Somali militant group Al-Shabab, Ali Mohamoud Raage said on in a prerecorded audio message that his group was responsible for the Saturday's attack that killed at least 100 people, majority of them civilians and university students.
The group said that the target was a Turkish convoy citizens working on a major road project that connects Mogadishu and Afgoi. It accuses Turkey which is a member of NATO for taking over the country.
The Shabab’s announcement follows shortly after Somalia government accused "a foreign country” was involved in Saturday’s Excon attack.
Somali National Intelligence Agency said preliminary findings indicate that a "foreign nation” was involved in the planning of Saturday’s deadly truck bomb in Mogadishu. NISA said on twitter adding that its working alongside other global intelligence agencies before releasing an official report.
