MOGADISHU, Somalia - (Horn Observer) A mystery has overshadowed a missing 16 year old Somali - Danish girl Amal Nor Osman who has been learning Islamic teaching in a local rehabilitation center in Mogadishu's Hodan district, where she has been studying before leaving the college to unidentified location.
The mother of the missing girl Mrs. Amran Mohamed Osman known as Amran Halane who initially spoke to the local media said that her underage daughter has been kidnapped by members of the Somalia’s presidential guards demanding her a ransom amounting to 2000 US dollars.

"After finding out that my daughter (Amal Nor Osman ) was kidnapped by members of the Villa Somalia, the two were arrested. Among them was the one who sent the photo of the girl to the her mother asking her for 2000 US dollars for her release and the other one was the one was taken my daughter from KM4 on his car to his home.” Mrs. Amran Mohamed Osman, the mother of the missing teen girl said as reported by Somalia’s Dalsan Radio

"I was thinking to get justice from my home country, but did not get any help and justice as I thought” Amran Halane said, "Is my girl a pirate when two presidential guards are asking two thousand US dollars for the release of my girl.”

However, the other side of the story is quite gruesome.

At least 9 girls escaped a local rehabilitation center known as Daaru Sunna located in Mogadishu’s Hodan district, among them four girls from UK, Denmark, Sweden and Canada, while chocking the security guard until he faints by wounding.

Amaal left the center for her free will and had communication since she left the center and are perusing in her safe return. The government also said they have not found guilty for the staffers of the Somali presidency.

"7 girls escaped from the rehabilitation center by force, some of them returned and Amal is still missing and we will make sure her safe return as the investigations continue” Gen. Sources told Horn Observer that the missing girl Amal Nor Osman followed another girl from UK who fled from the center to her home, whereby the girl’s brother works for the presidential palace. Later she reportedly left their house to unidentified location.

Another teenage girl identified as Ayaan and believed to have been from Sweden and appeared on a press conference held at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said that she was the same rehabilitation center with the missing girl accused the missing girl Amal for being behind tthe scape plan.

"She was very nervous and was planning to accuse her mother and will try to contact the nearest embassy and that was her decision” Ayaan said, "I will get nothing to accuse my mother and I returned.”

While the abuses by the the center intolerable, Daarul Sunna hosts at least 200 girls majority of them brought by their parents from abroad. The center punishes the girls with chains locked on their legs during their stay in the center to avoid escape attempt and has security guards.

Somalia government is currently considering to close the Daaru Sunna rehabilitation center where abuses against humanity take place as the search for Amal continue.

Mrs. Amran, the mother of the missing girl further said that her daughter has been missing for more than a month and appealed to the Somali government and the Somali people to help her get her daughter back safely.
