Dhusamareb, (Horn Observer) In a fast-developing crisis, Galmudug State of Somalia finds itself in the grip of a power struggle as its President, Ahmed Abdi Karie (Qoorqoor) and his Deputy, Ali Dahir Eid engage in a public feud, issuing conflicting directives within the past few hours. The core issue at the heart of this discord, according to insiders, revolves around donor projects intended for Abudwak town.

Vice President Ali Eid took action on September 6 by issuing two decrees. First, he approved the sacking the Chairman of Abudwak district council, and secondly, he dismissed Galmudug’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Abdi Mohamed Waayeel.

He accused the minister of undermining efforts against Al-Shabaab.

Abudwaq happens to be the deputy president’s constituency.

However, President Ahmed Qoorqoor, swiftly responded by stating that his deputy’s directives were in "direct contradiction to the Galmudug Constitution and the powers granted to the Vice President.”

He went a step further, instructing regional security and judicial agencies to take action against anyone jeopardizing security and stability.

But the dispute didn’t end there. Shortly afterward, the Vice President Ali Eid issued a press release asserting that the minister’s removal and the dissolution of the local council were indeed in effect.

He cautioned all local non-governmental and international organizations against cooperating with the suspended Minister Waayeel, pledging legal action against any NGO that continued to engage with him.

In response to Qoorqoor’s statement, Eid cautioned security agencies against becoming entangled in Galmudug’s intricate politics.

The crisis has deepened, with regional lawmakers reportedly drafting conflicting motions of no confidence.

The President’s supporters reportedly seeking to oust the Deputy, while the Deputy President’s backers aim to remove the President. The situation remains fluid and has the potential to severely impact the region’s stability
