Mogadishu, Somalia (Horn Observer) Somalia's Immigration and Naturalization Agency (SINA) and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) have on Tuesday signed a crucial cooperation agreement here in Mogadishu, embarking on new chapter of cooperation.

The agreement focuses on preventing Organized Crimes, dnhancing travel security, strengthening collaboration and communication between SINA and Interpol, Building the Security Skills of SINA officers and tracking Missing Persons as reported by local media.

Somalia’s Immigration chief Mustaf Dhuhulow highlighted the importance of the agreement in advancing efforts to combat extremism and addressing crimes related to migration in a bit to curb migration related crimes.

"The agreement fosters efforts to combat extremism and addressing crimes related to migration, both within Somalia and on a global scale.” Mustaf Dhuhulow, Somalia Immigration chief said at the signing in ceremony.

On his part, head of Interpol Somalia branch commended Somalia immigration and Naturalization Agency for this historic agreement for a short period under Dhuhulow’s leadership.

The country’s immigration agency has adopted strategies to detect and prevent migration-related crimes through the immigration’s crime prevention unit as observed by the Somali and Interpol officials.

The historic partnership agreement Somalia and Interpol have embarked on marks a crucial step toward improving security measures, fostering international collaboration, and enhancing the skills of Somali security personnel to tackle both local and global challenges.
