BELEDWEYNE (HORN OBSERVER) - Somalia's Hirshabelle state president Ali Gudlawe Hussein has arrived on Sunday for his first-ever visit to Baladweyne town. The president and his delegation were received by Hirshabelle officials headed by his deputy Yusuf Daba-geed and Hiiraan regional officials.
Gudlawe is expected to hold talks with politicians, elders and intellectuals in Beledweyne town.
The leader will also inspect venues to hold elections of about 25 parliamentary seats hailing from Hiiraan region.
This is Gudlawe’s first visit to Beledweyne since assuming presidency.
Meanwhile, rival forces led by Col. Nur Dheere have reportedly shelled the airport. Casualties of the shelling are yet unknown as Hiiraan authorities have not yet commented on the issue
