
Somalia and Spain Sign Agreement to Deepen Diplomatic and Economic Ties
The agreement was formalized in Madrid during a ceremony attended by Ali Mohamed Omar and Diego Martínez Belío, Spanish State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs.

Both officials highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in key sectors, including maritime security, economic development, and investment opportunities. The deal is expected to provide a framework for closer diplomatic coordination and increased collaboration on regional and international issues.
Speaking at the event, Omar reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to building stronger international partnerships aligned with its national priorities. Spain, for its part, welcomed what it described as Somalia’s continued progress in improving stability and advancing national reconstruction efforts.
The agreement reflects a broader effort by both countries to deepen ties amid evolving geopolitical and economic dynamics, particularly in the Horn of Africa and along key maritime routes.Leave a comment
