Djibouti City (Horn Observer + Lamaane.net) – Djibouti's Ministry of Youth and Culture convened a preparatory meeting led by Minister Fardoussa Moussa Egueh on Sunday, July 5, in Djibouti City to discuss organizational measures and select the competition theme for the country's 13th Annual Presidential Youth Award, an initiative presented each year by President Ismail Omar Guelleh.

The meeting brought together authorized ministry officials responsible for coordinating the annual competition, which recognizes young people through a presidential award intended to encourage participation in cultural, civic, and youth development activities. According to the ministry's discussions, participants reviewed administrative procedures, planning arrangements, and the process for determining the official theme that will guide this year's competition.

Minister Fardoussa Moussa Egueh chaired the session and emphasized the importance of early coordination to ensure the competition is organized efficiently and reaches eligible young participants across the country. Ministry officials examined the responsibilities assigned to different departments and discussed timelines for the launch of the competition and subsequent evaluation process.

The Presidential Youth Award has become an established annual initiative in Djibouti, with the prize awarded under the patronage of President Ismail Omar Guelleh. Previous editions have formed part of broader national efforts to encourage youth participation in education, culture, innovation, and civic engagement through structured competitions and public recognition.

Government officials view the process as an opportunity to align youth initiatives with national development priorities and strengthen collaboration between public institutions and young citizens.
