Mogadishu, Somalia (Horn Observer) Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Thursday urged All Somalis to forgive each other, unite in rebuilding the country, help the poor and improve the country's security by working together, during celebration of Muslim festival Eid-Al-Fitr.

Somalia celebrated Eid-Al-Fitr along with the rest of the Muslim communities around the world. This is after the completion of 30 days of fasting. Fasting is one of the key pillars of the Islamic religion and Muslims around the world fast from food, water, and otherworldly temptations from Sunrise to Sunset during the period.

"I want to take this opportunity to reiterate the importance of forgiveness, unity for all of us, helping the weak and working together to improve the security, stability and to rebuild the country." PM. Mohamed Hussein Roble said while praying at the Martyr Mosque inside Villa Somalia,

However, The Al Shabaab controlled areas of Central and Southern Somalia celebrated their Eid on Tuesday, after the group announced the end of the Ramadan.

Somalia’s international partners including United Nations,and the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) among other international actors poured Eid festival messages for the successful completion of the holy month of the Ramadaan.

The United Nations family in Somalia extended their warm greetings to Somalis on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, according to a statement and urged them to stay safe during the COVID19 pandemic.

 "The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact people observing Ramadan in Somalia and across the world, for the second year in a row, restricting in person gatherings of families and loved ones during a time of togetherness,” said James Swan, the UN Secretary-General Special Representative for Somalia in his statement.

"The great effort that Somalis have made to observe the health guidelines imposed by health authorities has helped protect families and communities as well as control the spread of the virus. However, it is too early to let our guard down, therefore I encourage everyone to continue to observe the health protocols and celebrate Eid safely in a spirit of joy, reconciliation, kindness, and solidarity. Ciid Wanaangsan.” continued the statement.

The African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM)   extended their warmest wishes to the people of Somalia on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and congratulated all the Muslims believers in Somalia for the successful completion of the Holy month of the Ramadaan.

 "I congratulate all the Muslim believers in Somalia for the successful completion of the Holy month of Ramadan. On behalf of AMISOM, I wish the Government and the people of Somalia a happy and peaceful Eid al-Fitr, a time for celebration and togetherness,” Ambassador Francisco Madeira, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission to Somalia and Head of AMISOM said in a statement "For the second year in a row, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated in a pandemic, this time with a more optimistic outlook as vaccine deployments are ongoing to protect people from COVID19. I urge all Muslim to support vulnerable members in their communities while they continue to adhere to the health and safety protocols for COVID-19.
